While we self isolate in our homes during the Covid-19 pandemic, we can each play an important and supportive role in the war against this enemy virus by helping to keep our first responders safe.
Within the confines of our home, we can sew much needed “scrub hats” for our hospital ER nurses and doctors and in doing so, keep our hands and minds occupied productively. Cotton linens (e.g. sheets, pillowcases or tablecloths) if no other fabric is available can be repurposed.
This website has been created in honour of our hospital heroes. It provides a FREE unisex scrub hat pattern for short / long ponytail / no ponytail and requires no elastic band in the hat’s construction. Detailed step by step instructions are provided for download as well.
Together we are stronger and will emerge from this crisis sooner! Please join us and make a difference!
We recommend anyone making scrubs hats to search and connect with their local hospital initiatives (as all are different) and pool your delivery resources.
When arranging delivery of your scrub hats to your local hospital(s) / health care contact, check with them on the best approach to delivery. Currently we’ve been recommended to use a cloth bag rather than a plastic bag as any possible virus contamination will die sooner on fabric than on plastic. (Our donated scrub hats are also being laundered by the hospital prior to being worn by nurses and docs.)
Please share this website with friends and family. Good luck!
